Designed as an accessible entry point for middle school computer science, this course invites students to explore programming with Python and JavaScript, digital citizenship, Internet safety, and data literacy. Students participate in creative projects spanning game design, web development, and coding, building a strong foundation for further technology learning in a supportive environment.

Students learn the basics of JavaScript as they follow Karel the Dog on two fun-filled adventures. Recommended for early middle school.
Students learn the basics of JavaScript as they follow Karel the Dog on two fun-filled adventures.
Students will learn how to use basic commands, variables, and functions in their programs using the Python programming language. Recommended for early middle school.
Students explore different technologies and the impact they have on our world.
Students learn the basics of programming by giving Karel the Dog commands in a grid world.
Students are introduced to network protocols and different strategies used to protect online information.
Students learn about Internet etiquette and how to stay safe on the world wide web.
Students explore the intersection of art and technology by creating art programs using p5.js.
Students learn the basics of video game design elements, game mechanics, and sprite and world design.
Students explore HTML and CSS styling as they work to create their homepage.
Students synthesize all they've learned in this course to complete a project where they use a device to collect and analyze data to find an answer to a question they have.
Students will learn the basics of web aesthetics and design principles which will allow them take their web design skills to the next level. This module culminates in a project that will guide them through the web planning process and create a multi-page website.
