FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my Florida scholarship for CodeHS?

Not yet. Florida families buy through Step Up For Students / EMA, and CodeHS is not an approved vendor there yet. Email us and we will let you know as soon as that changes.

Which Florida scholarship programs can I use for CodeHS?

Florida runs several: FES-EO, an income-based award of around $8,000; FES-UA, closer to $10,000, for students with unique abilities; and PEP, for personalized education. Eligibility and amounts differ by program and change year to year. Step Up For Students administers all three and lists the current figures.

How does buying CodeHS with a Florida scholarship work?

Florida uses a provider request flow through the EMA platform. Once CodeHS is an approved provider, you would submit a purchase request through EMA, which Step Up For Students reviews and approves before your child receives course access.

Can my child work through CodeHS courses independently?

Yes. CodeHS courses are designed for self-paced, independent learning. Each course includes video lessons, guided coding exercises, quizzes, and projects with built-in autograding for instant feedback.
