Students use drawing tools and motion blocks to create simple animated scenes and build sequences that move characters through a story.
Students learn how networks connect people and devices, how to choose the right software for a task, and how to use technology safely and responsibly.
Students strengthen core programming skills like sequencing, events, and debugging through hands-on, game-based coding activities.

The course introduces kindergarten students to foundational computer science and digital literacy skills using CodeHop, a block-based programming language. Students learn basic computer use, simple programming concepts like sequencing and events, digital literacy topics like online safety and networks, and apply coding to math, science, ELA, and social studies.
The course is aligned to South Carolina Kindergarten Computer Science and Digital Literacy standards, with individual lessons in the Interdisciplinary Exploration module also mapped to specific SC academic standards in math (K.OA, K.G), ELA (K.W, ELA.K.F), science (K-LS1, K-ESS2), and social studies (K.E, K.CG).
