UNITS - 10 (41 lessons)
Reviews the CodeHopJr programming interface and basic sequencing skills through the Scout Adventures story unit.
Introduces computer basics, computational thinking, and drawing tools to prepare students for programming.
Teaches students to use sequences and event blocks to build interactive games while practicing debugging and digital responsibility.
Uses unplugged card games to introduce the concept of loops before students apply them on the computer.
Teaches students to use repeat and forever loops to create games and animations that repeat actions.
Introduces message events and variables to help characters communicate, control speed, and keep score in interactive programs.
Teaches students to build multi-page programs, including games and greeting cards, using pages and messages.
Uses grid-based movement to design and program mazes and races.
Applies the design process and prior programming skills to create original projects like personal profiles, games, and data visualizations.
Covers digital literacy topics including responsible technology use, password safety, networks, data storage, and research skills.
