MODULES - 11

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Georgia standards does this course align to?

It covers 100% of the Georgia Foundations of Artificial Intelligence standards. The CodeHS standards page shows each standard alongside the lesson that covers it.

What language do students program in?

Python, throughout.

Do students need programming experience before starting?

No. Roughly the first half of the course is a full introduction to Python, starting with turtle graphics and console interaction before moving through conditionals, loops, functions, strings, data structures and classes. The AI units come after that foundation is in place.

What artificial intelligence content does the course actually cover?

Two dedicated units, What is AI? and Data and Artificial Intelligence, plus two AI projects: building a chatbot and applying AI to gaming. The course frames AI in society and the workplace and applies Python skills to fields where AI is used.

Is this the first course in the Georgia AI pathway?

Yes. The course is described as the introductory course in the Artificial Intelligence pathway, and CodeHS lists it under the Georgia state pathway for grades 9 and 10.

How long is the course?

About 140 contact hours, built to run across a full school year.

How is student progress assessed?

The course includes a midterm and a final exam, three projects (Guess the Word, Who Said It?, Mastermind) alongside the two AI projects, and a pretest and posttest so you can measure growth across the year.
