UNITS - 8 (40 lessons)

  • Option Review

    Reviews login basics, the Scout Adventures story unit, and loop-based coding card games to prepare students for 1st grade content.

  • Sequences and Events

    Builds computational thinking through evening routines while covering drawing tools, event blocks, sequencing, wait blocks, digital responsibility, and debugging.

  • Loops

    Teaches students to use repeat and forever loops to build games such as catching butterflies, a dance party, and a predator-and-prey simulation.

  • Message Events

    Teaches students to use message events so characters can communicate and interact, applied through a relay race, a Simon Says game, and a speed-controlled bouncy ball.

  • Pages

    Students use pages and messages/loops to build a tapping game and a mini golf game that move between multiple screens.

  • Grid

    Students use the grid feature to design and program a maze and an end-block controlled race.

  • Culmination Projects

    Students apply their programming skills to plan an "About Me" project and build a river-crossing obstacle game with adjustable difficulty.

  • Digital Literacy

    Covers computer basics, positive online behavior, data and variables, file storage, types of software, research skills, and how networks and the internet work.
